Lewes Ferry

This is our new “clubhouse” in Cape May.

Archie and his staff do everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfasts are absolutely fabulous (decadent French toast, pineapple crumble, Cape May Eggs … just leave your calorie counter at home!) and tea in the afternoon (a fresh baked good, a savory snack, and tea and wine) is always a welcome break in the day. Rooms are pretty without being fussy and the location is great.

Cape May Activities

Enjoy a ferry ride across Delaware Bay during your next stay at our Cape May B&B! TheĀ Cape May Lewes Ferrytakes about 85 minutes each way as it shuttles between Cape May and Lewes, Delaware several times each day during the summer season.

Your Lewes Cape May ferry ride offers views of three lighthouses: the Cape May Lighthouse on the Jersey shore, as well as the Harbor of Refuge Light and the Delaware Breakwater East End Light, both in Cape Henlopen, Delaware.

While onboard, relax in the lounge with your favorite beverage, browse in the on-board gift shop, or play games in the arcade. Throughout the summer, the ferry hosts special events such as fireworks and music nights.

Once you’ve reached Lewes, take the day to shop, dine, and explore the sights before returning home to our bed & breakfast.

From the common areas to the room, to the food, everything was first class.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Bedford Inn and we were more than impressed. Immediately upon arriving we were greeted by the owner, Archie, and he spent close to a half hour giving us a tour of the property and explaining the policies and amenities. After which he stayed to answer all of our questions regarding the surrounding area, being it was our first overnight stay in Cape May. From the common areas to the room, to the food, everything was first class. We plan to go back as soon as we can.
