About The Inn

Great location

Just returned from a couple of nights at The Bedford Inn in Cape May. Great location: easy walk to the restaurants in town, and about a block from the beach. We appreciated being able to use beach chairs and beach towels from the Inn. Our room was clean and charming. Archie makes a delicious breakfast and we loved coming back to the inn after an afternoon on the beach to fresh lemonade and homemade cookies!

Our Bed and Breakfast in Cape May, NJ

Relax and enjoy the quiet of authentic Victorian guest rooms at our Cape May bed and breakfast. Treat your loved one to a ‘honeymoon’ suite for your special getaway. All rooms and suites have a private bath, each with a shower and some with an old-fashioned claw foot tub. Each room is decorated with period antiques, but has touches of the new century with air conditioning and televisions. Many of our rooms provide a queen bed and two of the suites offer a king.

Enjoy the cozy fireplace in our Victorian parlor or choose a book from one of our bookcases as you laze away an hour or two in a rocking chair on one of our large, airy verandahs. Come down to tea in the late afternoon and if you feel sociable, visit with other guests—sharing your impressions of Cape May’s lovely beach, its beautiful collection of Victorian buildings, its wonderful restaurants, cafes, shops and tours.

Owner Archie Kirk came from Mt. Laurel, New Jersey and learned about Cape May during many years of vacationing here.

Come for a visit and take a well-earned break from your busy life at home. Relax and enjoy the quiet warmth of a home created over many years. Take back special memories of the old-fashioned charm of our village by the sea.

From the common areas to the room, to the food, everything was first class.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Bedford Inn and we were more than impressed. Immediately upon arriving we were greeted by the owner, Archie, and he spent close to a half hour giving us a tour of the property and explaining the policies and amenities. After which he stayed to answer all of our questions regarding the surrounding area, being it was our first overnight stay in Cape May. From the common areas to the room, to the food, everything was first class. We plan to go back as soon as we can.
