Cape May Winery and Turdo Vineyards, the closest two, are located just three miles away from the hotel. The first of these, Cape May Winery, is one of the city’s biggest attractions. With four vineyards spread over 150 acres, they are able to produce over twenty different styles of wine. Though they recommend sampling their signature soft, buttery, vanilla-flavored Barrel Fermented Chardonnay, their professional wine associates will also be on-hand during your tasting to help guide you to your ideal wine.
Turdo Vineyards has been family-owned and run for over 10 years. Their wines, always estate grown, have won silver and bronze awards at the 2010 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition against entries from all 50 states, 9 Canadian provinces and 13 countries. In addition, they were named Best Wine Shop by in Philadelphia Magazine’s Best of the Shore 2010.
A third choice is the Hawk Haven Vineyard, located slightly farther from the hotel than the above two. Their tasting room is open every day, which makes a good place to stop by; be sure to ask about their selections which have earned gold medals and other praise from the World Wine Championship.
