James' Room

On the first floor, in the front just off the porch, James’ Room is our largest standard room with twelve-foot high ceilings and features a fireplace insert in the original Victorian hearth. The wallpaper is a dark blue paisley stripe wallpaper, covered with large cabbage roses in shades of rose and the wide Southern pine floorboards are covered with a dark blue oriental rug. All furnishings are Victorian walnut – a high-backed queen bed; a mirrored double-door armoire; marble-top, mirrored bureau; and a loveseat, covered in a cabbage rose tapestry. A few concessions to modern day comfort include a small private bath with tile stall shower, a ceiling fan, and an air conditioner in summer as well as a small color tv and dvd player.
